N’DJAMENA, KOMPAS.TV – Chadian military council insists it refuses to negotiate with the rebels after President Idriss Deby was killed in front-line fighting.

The rebel party, the Front for Change and Harmony in Chad (FACT), began attacking from the North demanding that Deby’s 30-year regime end.
The rebels on Saturday (24/4/2021), said they were ready to make peace to discuss a political settlement.
But they insisted they did not support the coup to bring Deby’s son, General Mahamat Deby to power.
But a day later, the military council said it would not negotiate with the rebels.
