After N’Djamena announced on Wednesday that about 320 Sudanese soldiers had fled the battles taking place in their country between the army and the Rapid Support Forces and crossed the border into Chad, where they surrendered to the Chadian army, Defense Minister Daoud Yaya Brahim confirmed that the number had risen to 400.

He added, in an intervention with Al-Arabiya / Al-Hadath, that 400 Sudanese soldiers entered his country in search of safety.

He also continued that his forces have strengthened their positions on the border with Sudan, explaining that they will return the Sudanese soldiers to their country after the situation stabilizes.

The Chadian minister pointed out that his country has communicated with the African Union and the United Nations because of the Sudan crisis, stressing that it is affected by what the neighbor is going through, and it intervenes to calm the crisis.

He revealed that his country hosts hundreds of thousands of Sudanese because of the events in Darfur.

It is noteworthy that the battles in Khartoum between the army and the Rapid Support Forces entered their fifth day, killing more than 300 civilians so far, and prompting thousands of residents to flee the Sudanese capital to escape the battles.

While Chad closed its borders with Sudan on Saturday, following the outbreak of fighting.

The two countries share a border that extends for more than a thousand kilometers in the east of the country, which is adjacent to the Darfur region, which often witnesses tribal violence, especially due to disputes over land and difficulties in obtaining water.
