Chad McQueen died on September 11, 2024. He was 64 years old. His lawyer Arthur Barens told the media. The cause of death was “organ failure.” A few years ago, the star had an accident and suffered injuries that later affected the functioning of his entire body.
His wife and two beloved children said goodbye to him in an Instagram post. “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Chad McQueen. His extraordinary journey as a loving father to us, along with his unwavering devotion to our mother, truly exemplified a life filled with love and devotion,” the statement read.
“His passion for racing not only highlighted his exceptional talent, but was also a way to pay tribute to his father’s legacy, a testament to the values that were instilled in him,” his family added in the post.
Chad McQueen was the son of legendary actor Steve McQueen and actress Neile Adams. He followed in his parents’ footsteps early on in his career, becoming an American film and television actor and producer.
He has appeared in over 25 films. Audiences loved him for his role as Dutch in the “Karate Kid” series. He could also be seen in such productions as “Red Line”, “Sparrowhawk”, “The Smell of Money” and “New York Cop”.
But McQueen didn’t pursue his Hollywood career for long. He inherited his father’s passion for motoring and went in that direction. “I was surrounded by two things: film and motorsports, but it was motoring that always attracted me more,” he said in interview for FlickFeast.
Interestingly, Chad McQueen won his first races when he was only 10 years old. He returned to this “passion” seriously as an adult. In 2006, he had an accident, which occurred during training for the 24 Hours of Daytona.
This somewhat thwarted his later plans, but he did not give up his passion for motoring. In 2010, he founded a company specializing in the construction of racing cars and motorcycles.
Chad McQueen was very close to his father. Steve McQueen also died young. He was only 50 years old. He was battling lung cancer.
