Chad McQueen died from serious injuries. The news of the actor’s death was announced to the media on September 12. His children published the information about the deceased Chad McQueen in a joint statement on social media.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our father, Chad McQueen. His extraordinary journey as a loving father and his devotion to our mother exemplify a life of love and sacrifice,” the post reads.
Chad McQueen, like his father, legendary actor Steve McQueen, was an avid car racing enthusiast and rally driver. This passion became more important to him than acting. “We received from him the passion, knowledge and dedication that we will continue to carry on, cherishing both his legacy and the legacy of our grandfather,” his children wrote. “As a family, we must get through this difficult time,” they added in a statement, asking for privacy.
The actor’s representative, Arthur Barens, told TMZ that Chad McQueen died at his ranch home in Palm Desert, California. His children and girlfriend were present in his final moments. Barens explained that the cause of death was organ failure, which was the result of serious injuries in 2020, when McQueen’s health was steadily deteriorating. McQueen has had serious accidents before; in 2006, he miraculously survived an accident that resulted in a broken leg, two vertebrae and multiple ribs. Chad McQueen had three children, including a son, Steven, who also became an actor and is known for playing Jeremy Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries.
