N’DJAMENA, Feb.21 (Xinhua) – Bissau-Guinean President Umaro Sissoco Embalo arrived in N’Djamena on Sunday evening for a 48-hour working and friendship visit, the Chadian presidency announced.
This visit is “placed under the sign of strengthening cooperation relations in several areas of interest to the two countries,” said the Chadian presidency.
“Chad and Guinea-Bissau, despite the distance that separates them, want to be the model of pan-African cooperation in the service of peace and development on the continent”, she added.
Mr. Embalo is accompanied in particular by his Minister of Defense, Sandji Fati, and that of Foreign Affairs, Suzi Carla Barbosa.
On January 8, 2020, Mr. Embalo made a brief stay in Chad to discuss bilateral cooperation and the fight against terrorism with his counterpart, Idriss Déby Itno.
