CFMOTO, a Chinese motorcycle manufacturer growing in the Japanese market, is all set to unveil its latest model, the “250CL-C”, on October 19 in Japan. This launch marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to compete directly with established Japanese brands in the 250cc cruiser motorcycle segment.
The 250CL-C will debut during the Webike Festival, a renowned event in the Japanese motorcycle calendar. Landscape, recently appointed official importer of CFMOTO in Japan, will make the new model available for road tests, allowing enthusiasts to have direct experience with this innovation.
Featuring a design inspired by classic British cruisers, the 250CL-C presents itself as a stylish and modern alternative to the popular Honda Rebel 250. The model is equipped with a 249cc single-cylinder engine, capable of producing a maximum horsepower of 25, 1 hp, paired with a six-speed gearbox and belt drive.
The motorcycle also stands out with its advanced safety equipment, which includes dual-channel ABS and traction control, as well as all-LED lighting and a TFT LCD instrument panel. These features place the 250CL-C at a high technological level within its segment.
With a competitive price, equivalent to that of the Rebel 250, CFMOTO focuses on differentiation through classic design and modern equipment to capture a slice of the Japanese light cruiser market.
The arrival of the 250CL-C in Japan represents not only a challenge to Honda’s hegemony in this segment, but also a clear sign of the growing quality and ambition of Chinese manufacturers in the global motorcycle market.
