Mexico City. The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) announced that its subsidiary Generation I obtained income from the sale of energy and power of more than 55 billion pesos.
Manuel Bartlett, general director of CFE, and Emilia Calleja, general director of CFE Generation I, headed the Board of Directors where they presented their main results during 2023 and the relevant projects contemplated for the current year.
Calleja presented the infrastructure projects that will allow it to meet its generation goals and announced the results at the end of December 2023: an energy generation of 34,364 gigawatts. He added that Generation I obtained income from the sale of energy and power of 55,696 million pesos.
He specified that, with the objective of providing availability and generation, Generation I presented its relevant projects: the El Sauz II Combined Cycle Power Plant, which will be located in Pedro Escobedo, Querétaro and will provide an estimated net capacity of 256 megawatts, with an investment of 291.5 millions of dollars.
Another project is the Salamanca Combined Cycle Power Plant, in the state of Guanajuato, which will provide an estimated net capacity of 927 megawatts, with an investment of 627.3 million dollars, both of which are estimated to come into operation this year.
He stated that, regarding the implementation of the hydroelectric plant rehabilitation program, the Infiernillo plant, located in Michoacán, aims to maintain an estimated net capacity of 400 megawatts, with an investment of 15.72 million dollars, and the Caracol, located in Guerrero, to add 30 megawatts whose investment is 97.59 million dollars.
“Manuel Bartlett recognized the work of Emilia Callejas for directing a subsidiary as complex as Generación I and for being a woman committed to the company. This will allow us to continue with the mandate of the president of the republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to fulfill the commitment to enlighten Mexico,” the CFE added in a statement.
