CFE Distribución, a subsidiary of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), obtained revenues from distribution services of 88,588 million pesos at the end of July 2024, the state-owned company reported.
During a meeting of the Board of Directors, Guillermo Nevárez Elizondo, general director of the subsidiary, reported that the income of the subsidiary of the state-owned company increased by 3,125 million pesos due to recovered energy and by growth in energy sales of 7,347 million pesos.
He pointed out that strategic actions were taken to reduce non-technical energy losses, such as 3.9 million inspections of measuring equipment, which resulted in the collection of 1,442 gigawatts, which is equivalent to 3,125 million pesos.
1.39 million meters that had reached the end of their useful life or were damaged were modernized, which allowed an increase in sales of 114 gigawatts, equivalent to 248 million pesos.
The commercial process was also strengthened to ensure its operation without defects. As of July, 99,357 commercial routes have been carried out, eliminating defects in the process. As a result, sales increased by 3,391 gigawatts, equivalent to 7,347 million pesos.
Settlements were regularized, benefiting 221 thousand users and recovering 112 gigawatts, equivalent to 244 million pesos.
The electrical infrastructure was also strengthened in 1,108 projects, to stop losing 66 gigawatts.
CFE Distribución achieved savings of 256 million pesos due to consolidated purchases made in the first seven months of 2024.
During the meeting, CFE Distribución presented its performance report up to the seventh month of 2024, investment programs and projects, and progress in electrification in the country.
For 2024, a target of 99.60 percent electricity service coverage was set, so as of the seventh month of the year, progress of 99.51 percent has been made, due to the execution of 4,129 electrification works, derived from agreements formalized in the last quarter of 2023 and during 2024, with an investment of 2,253 million pesos, benefiting 2,995 localities and 214,437 inhabitants.
Nevárez Elizondo reported that so far this year, 1,778 kilometers of distribution lines have been built, 6,222 transformers have been installed, and 39,506 poles have been placed.
Regarding Federal Government projects, CFE Distribution has connected 2,755 branches of Banco del Bienestar.
The subsidiary will participate in the final phase of the wiring process of section 2 in medium voltage circuits of the Collective Metro System.
In the CFE Internet for All program, by the end of May 2024, a total of 65 thousand assigned access points were installed in the General Distribution Networks, which represents 100 percent progress of the project.
The subsidiary began the execution of 72 complementary works requested by the National Fund for Tourism Development (Fonatur), which include electrical infrastructure works, connected to medium voltage lines to provide electricity to services required for the operation of the Mayan Train.
