CF Montreal amassed a point in a third straight game Wednesday night against Orlando City SC, leaving Florida with a 1-1 draw.
With 42 points, including five in the last three meetings, Wilfried Nancy’s men have settled in sixth in the Eastern Association of Major League Soccer (MLS).
Montreal has once again come from behind to snatch a precious point. The Quebec team let their guard down at the very end of the first half by letting Christopher Mueller open the scoring on a long cross pass from Ruan.
Djordje Mihailovic most recently edged Ignacio Piatti in franchise history for the number of assists in a season. The American continued his momentum by amassing his 15th on a corner kick.
Defender Rudy Camacho was well positioned to head Mihailovic’s offering in the 51st minute, creating a tie at the same time.
The French full-back stood out in a whole new way, saving a definite goal in the 76th minute. As James Pantemis stumbled and an Orlando striker prepared to cock a strike into a deserted cage, Camacho bravely stepped in front of the shot.
There are four games remaining at CF Montreal in MLS this season. Wilfried Nancy’s next men’s challenge will be Saturday against Toronto FC at BMO Field.
