Today, at the Guaguas Municipales facilities, the first match of the year was presented, in the CEV Champions League Volleyball, by CV Guaguas. Present at the event were José Eduardo Ramírez, Mobility Councilor of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, Gemma Tor, director of Municipal Guaguas, Juan Ruiz, president of the Guaguas Volleyball Club, José Luis Sánchez, secretary of the Guaguas Volleyball Club, and the player Miguel Ángel de Amo.
“It is an honor to welcome you to this house. It was a tremendous success to make the decision to get back together with the Guaguas Volleyball Club to try to recover the best era in history, and we are on that path,” says José Eduardo Ramírez. The city’s Mobility Councilor points out that: “They are playing really well, and we want to invite citizens to go to the Insular Sports Center to continue supporting the team, everything seems to indicate that if they win we will qualify, I hope so. ”.
The president of the Guaguas Volleyball Club, Juan Ruiz, shared his expectations for this exciting match by stating: “This week we have one of the most important matches in memory. If we achieve victory we could qualify, and we would enter the eight best teams of the continent, it would be historic,” he concludes.
Jastrzebski Wegiel (Poland) will be the next rival of the Gran Canaria team. The meeting will take place on Thursday, January 11, at 8:00 p.m., at the Insular Sports Center.
