Cétal, a different company at your service!

A non-profit organization, Cétal, which operates two factories in Laurier Station and Victoriaville, stands out because it employs people living with functional limitations who outdo themselves by performing tasks that help local businesses.

Founded in 1980, Cétal plays a crucial role, especially in these years in which the shortage of manpower is causing many headaches for entrepreneurs. Indeed, in addition to promoting people with disabilities by giving them a job, the organization specializes in industrial subcontracting in various sectors. It therefore offers a social contribution, combined with economic profitability, as its slogan states: “Our difference contributes to your success”.

This therefore makes it possible to make available, for tasks with lower added value, a pool of productive employees, currently made up of over 200 people, who are well supervised and trained. “More than 70% of these people have limitations,” says general manager Stéphane Levac. Thus, the work is modulated to the potential of each one and the limitations in question are compensated by the adaptation of equipment and production techniques.

Cétal is currently working in various fields such as the assembly of electrical harnesses, the handling and packaging of products, the production of wooden packaging or any other project that is submitted to it and which meets the needs of the personnel. Because it is the social mission that takes priority. Therefore, for outsourcing, it is necessary to find contracts that offer means of work that meet the specific needs of the workforce.

On the Victoriaville side, the Cétal establishment has been established since 2017, thus responding to a need expressed by the community and the Ministry of Labour. There, 75 employees have found work that brings them pride and self-esteem while making significant contributions to society. This number is also expected to increase to 85-90 in 2023 as hires are expected.

“We are constantly growing and adding between 5 and 10 new resources every year,” emphasizes the director, adding that the company has an estimated annual revenue of $8 million with his services.

Over the years, the organization has established various partnerships, in particular with adult education service centers which offer targeted training (skills and know-how) to employees, enabling them to maintain or develop their skills. This is how they can thrive socially and professionally and significantly improve their quality of life.

Individuals or families with a member with functional limitations who wish to enter the world of work are therefore invited to contact Cétale to verify their suitability. Same thing for companies that have industrial subcontracting projects to implement and thus achieve their growth objectives in 2023: 418-728-3119 or [email protected].
