“Cēsu alus” has acquired the right to sell the beer brand “Corona” in Latvia

The brewery “Cēsu alus” has signed a cooperation agreement with the world’s largest brewer “AB InBev” on the right to sell the world’s popular “Corona” beer in Latvia from January 1, 2022, the company informed.

The company recalls that Corona beer is the world’s largest exporter of Mexican beer in glass bottles, sold in more than 180 countries, and has gained worldwide fame for its presentation with a slice of lime. Corona’s sales in Latvia have doubled in the last six months.

AB InBev is the world’s largest brewery, brewing more than 25% of the world’s beer. In 2020, it sold 53 billion liters of beer and boasts a portfolio of more than 500 brands, including brands such as Corona, Budweiser, Stella, Artois, Leffe, Becks and Hoegaarden. .

Until now, Cēsu alus has represented the internationally recognized beer brand Warsteiner in Latvia, and from January 2022, the Mexican beer brand Corona will be added to the product portfolio.

Last year, Cēsu alus sold 70.8 million liters of beverages, of which more than 60% were beer.

Last year, Cēsu alus had a turnover of 62.167 million euros and a profit of 3.572 million euros. The Finnish concern Olvi owns 99% of the capital of Cēsu alus.
