Vondrka said after last year that he was thinking about ending his active career. But he trained over the summer, took part in training at parent company České Budějovice for the past few weeks and has now announced his return to extra league.
The bronze medalist at the 2012 World Cup, who won the extra Scudetto with Slavia in 2008, has so far played 954 games in the top flight with a record of 222 goals and 265 assists. Vondrek is therefore 13 points from 500 points and, if Motor is successful in the playoffs, he can attack the mark of 1,000 games played.
Vondrk is expected to experience his renewed debut with České Budějovice in Friday’s 18th round match against Hradec Králové.
