Cesare Battisti was transferred to the Ferrara prison. This was made known by the Autonomous Prison Police Syndicate (Sappe). The former terrorist was detained in Rossano (Cosenza).
“Cesare Battisti, probably also thanks to the political support received, was transferred from the Rossano prison, an institution he did not like, to that of Ferrara – says Giovanni Battista Durante, Deputy Secretary General Sappe – We remember that among the murders committed by Battisti there it is also that of Marshal Santoro, then commander of the Udine prison. We hope that now he will discount the penalty, that is life imprisonment, considering that for many years he has evaded justice and that for the families of the victims there is fair compensation ” .
The transfer of Cesare Battisti from the Rossano prison to that of Ferrara stems, as we learn, from security needs, made necessary after he himself had expressed his protest because he did not want to be with prisoners for Islamic terrorism.
