Graham Potter gave an update on Saturday on the state of health of César Azpilicueta, stretchered out on Saturday after being unintentionally hit in the head by Southampton striker Sékou Mara in the Premier League.
“He’s at the hospital. He is conscious and has spoken to his wife. Fortunately, he is in the best condition to recover and he is under surveillance. We have to take all the necessary precautions due to the loss of consciousness, it was worrying,” the Chelsea manager said.
The Spanish international left the pitch already conscious, but spent the night in the hospital.
