A private pilot was arrested by members of the CESAC Specialized Airport Security Corps, with a firearm arsenal in which were six (06) pistols, one (01) revolver, ten (10) magazines for M-16 rifle, among other military supplies, in a search of his luggage carried out at the Cibao International Airport in Santiago,

He is Carlos Eduardo Oquet Acevedo, who worked as a pilot and mechanic of a Dominican pilot aircraft.

According to the version of the agency Oquet Acevedo arrived at the Cibao airport on Monday 7, from the doctor Joaquín Balaguer terminal, in Santo Domingo in a plane registration N203BP, spending the night in that airport for two 02 days, leaving the same , on Thursday bound for Cibao airport.

He adds the information that he stayed at that airport for five days and after going home he returned to the aircraft to remove the luggage that he left inside the plane.

It adds that after removing the packages from the plane, the CESAC members proceeded to inspect them in the X-ray machine, detecting the weapons inside and then arresting them.

During the search of the luggage, the agents of the airport security agencies seized an arsenal of firearms, including six (06) pistols, one (01) revolver, ten (10) magazines for M-16 rifles, among others and military supplies.

Later, together with the Public Ministry, the authorities of the General Customs Directorate and the Intelligence Directorate of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Ministry of Defense J-2, stationed in the MDST, the detainee was transferred to the Santiago Prosecutor’s Office for the purposes corresponding legal.

The pilot Orquet Acevedo is accused of violation of Law no. 188-11, on Airport Security and Civil Aviation and Law no. 631-16 for the Control and Regulation of Arms, Ammunition and Materials.

Meanwhile, Carlos Eduardo Oquet Acevedo, was presented within the term established by law before the Santiago Prosecutor’s Office to be known as a coercion measure, but it was postponed until next Saturday, December 19.
