CES 2023: Computer desk with built-in exercise bike

Now checking electricity prices before turning on the computer is almost done. At the large electronics fair CES in Las Vegas, Acer launched a solution that combines the most advanced technology with the most analog energy source: leg muscles.

Yes, if Acer decides, you should be able to power and recharge your computer by pressing the pedals.

To that end, the company introduced the Acer eKinekt BD 3 Bike Desk, which is literally a computer desk combined with an exercise bike.

With eKinekt BD 3, you can exercise while you work, while the kinetic energy from your pedal stroke is used to generate power for your computer and other connected devices. An integrated LCD screen and associated app provide information about your workout and the amount of energy generated.

As with a regular stationary bike at the gym, you can adjust the resistance in the pedals. And of course, the desk is ergonomically designed, so both seat and table heights can be adjusted.

The Acer eKinekt BD 3 Bike Desk features three built-in USB ports, a bag hook, and a drink holder.

In this way the kinetic energy is converted into electricity

When you step on the pedals, eKinekt converts kinetic energy into an electrical charge, Acer explains in a press release.

One hour of steady pedaling at 60 revolutions per minute means the exercise bike generates 75 watts of power. An LED charge indicator on the rear of the bike lights up when you pedal, signaling that kinetic energy is being converted.

Price and availability will be announced at a later date.
