CES 2023 ASUS Unveils TUF Gaming 2023 Laptop, Ryzen 7000 CPU and Radeon RX 7000 RDNA 3 GPU

ASUS has unveiled its next-generation TUF Gaming 2023 series, which includes the all-AMD TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition laptop. ASUS launched a total of 6 new TUF Gaming designs, including TUF Gaming F15/17, TUF Gaming A15/17 and TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition.

Starting with the ASUS TUF Gaming A16, the laptop will be equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 7000 CPU with Zen4 core architecture and will also be equipped with an AMD Radeon 7000 RDNA 3 Mobility GPU with a TGP of up to 120W. As the company claims, it’s essentially a Radeon RX 7900M with 8GB of GDDR6, but no further information was provided. But the PR provided by ASUS lists the CPU as Ryzen 9 7940HS and the GPU as Radeon RX 7700S.

The system will also feature DDR5-4800 memory (up to 64GB capacity), a state-of-the-art cooling solution with 7 heat pipes, 84-blade Arc Flow fans and 4 exhaust vents scattered around the laptop . The laptop will be available in Off Black and Sand Storm color options.

This will be a pure AMD Advantage design, using SmartShift technology and featuring a 16-inch (16:10) display with up to QHD resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. But ASUS also has two TUF Gaming laptops in the back with AMD technology: TUF Gaming A15/17 will also be equipped with AMD Ryzen 9 7000 CPU, but it will use NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU with a TGP of 140W instead of RDNA3 Mobile GPU. But most of the specifications will be in line with the A16 handset.

ASUS also has two TUF Gaming F15/17 models that will combine Intel’s latest 13th generation Raptor Lake-H series CPUs with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs. The laptops will feature Thunderbolt 4 (USB Type-C) I/O and have the same 90Wh fast charging capability. Both TUF Gaming A and F series will feature NVIDIA G-SYNC panels, while the AMD Advantage edition laptops will use AMD’s Freesync technology.
