Cervinia ski area closed from Monday

From Monday, the Cervinia ski area will be closed until further notice due to the corona virus. Operation on the Zermatt side remains open without restrictions.

As a security measure, the Italian government has decided to stop various ski areas in northern Italy in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic. This also applies to the Cervinia ski area, as Zermatt Bergbahnen AG informs. From Monday, the operation on the Italian side will therefore remain closed until further notice.

Skiing on the Zermatt side remains open without restrictions. As the Federal Council announced, there is no increased risk for Swiss ski resorts. Guests with purchased and unused international ski passes can have their passes converted to Zermatt ski passes at the Zermatt Bergbahnen sales points and get the difference back to the International Skipass. The sale of international ski passes will cease on Monday for all sales channels, it said.
