Hops.ID – The late Julia Perez is known to have died from a malignant disease, namely cervical cancer which she suffered.

Julia Perez or usually called Jupe herself only found out that she had cervical cancer in November 2014. She was also declared cured by a hospital in Singapore.

What is Cervical Cancer?

Reported by Hops.ID from cancer.gov, cervical cancer is cancer that starts in the cells of the cervix. The cervix itself means the lower and narrow end of the uterus, and the cervix connects the uterus to the vagina (birth canal).

Cervical cancer usually develops slowly. Before the appearance of cancer in the cervix, cervical cells first experience a change called dysplasia (abnormal cells begin to appear in cervical tissue).

If these abnormal cells are not destroyed or removed immediately, these abnormal cells will become cancer cells and begin to grow and spread to the cervix and its surroundings.

What are the Symptoms of Cervical Cancer?

Initially, cervical cancer has no symptoms so it is difficult to detect. However, symptoms will begin to be felt after the cancer has spread. These symptoms are:

2. Vaginal bleeding after menopause
3. Leucorrhoea is watery and smells pungent or contains blood
4. Pelvic pain or pain during sex
