Corporate social responsibility or CSR at the Islamic Hospital of the Islamic University of Malang (RSI Unisma) held health education about Cervical Cancer Knowledge and Health Checks for Blood Sugar, Uric Acid, Cholesterol.
This activity together with dr. Atika Herawati as General Practitioner at RSI Unisma at Rumah Kusuma Jl. Papa Hijau No. 27, Tulusrejo Village, Malang City some time ago.
Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that targets the uterine cells of the cervix. The cause begins when cells in the cervix develop abnormally.
Gradually, the development becomes more massive and uncontrolled, thus forming a tumor. Well, this malignant tumor will later cause cervical cancer.
This condition is one of the types of cancer that causes the most victims in women throughout the world.
According to data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, at least 15,000 cases of cervical cancer are reported each year in Indonesia.
After that, a health consultation was held with Dr. Atika. The health education provided is about the types, symptoms, risk factors and prevention of cervical cancer which is often experienced by the public.
This activity was attended by around 20 participants from local elderly residents. Apart from examinations, education was also carried out on maintaining a healthy lifestyle in facing uncertain seasons like now.
RSI Unisma hopes that with this counseling, the elderly in Papa Hijau, Tulusrejo Village, Malang City can always maintain a healthy lifestyle and recognize disease symptoms early to avoid delays in treatment.
