‘Certain rules may apply longer to non-vaccinated people’ – De Daily Standaard

It is according to Minister De Jonge not excluded that people who take a corona vaccine will soon have advantages over non-vaccinated people. It all has yet to be worked out, but it looks like we will be discriminating on the basis of vaccinations.

If there is a corona vaccine in the future, this discussion will of course immediately flare up: can you refuse or favor people on the basis of a vaccination?

We have no idea yet which vaccines will work exactly and whether they will be safe at all in the long term (and even then will provide adequate protection). If there are any risks involved, the last thing you want people to take is a vaccine because of peer pressure and feel safe when they go to a party. Or what if a new mutation of the virus emerges that the vaccine does not protect against, for example?

There will be all kinds of ethical and moral objections to this that may be very justified, but will be completely snowed under by the cry of people who are sick of the lockdown. And anyone who ruins ‘their party’ because they don’t want to take a vaccine, perhaps for very good reasons, faces exclusion, hatred and frustration. If there is also a new outbreak, it is not that difficult to predict who the fingers will point to first. We have to be really careful with this!
