Cerro Porteño defeated Sportivo Ameliano 1-0 this Thursday in a regularization match of the first date of the Clausura 2024. The only goal was scored by Diego León.
At 27′, the youth player came in from the left to head a short cross that Alan Benítez chipped in from the right side of the opponent’s area after a false cut by Édgar Zaracho.
Great debut for León, interesting left back. Cerro Porteño could have won by a bigger margin, as they had enough merits. Sportivo Ameliano saved themselves on several occasions. Especially at the end, where they even had the help of the crossbar.
El Ciclón is now preparing for the match against Sportivo Luqueño on matchday 3. The match will be played on Sunday from 18:30 at the Nueva Olla. That same day, but starting at 16:00, Sportivo Ameliano will face Nacional at the Martín Torres.
