Linz (OTS) – The new state office of the SVS (Social Insurance for the Self-employed) in Linz’s Hanuschstrasse was ceremoniously opened today, Tuesday, by State Governor Thomas Stelzer and SVS chairman Peter Lehner. The blessing was carried out by cathedral priest Maximilian Strasser. Around 100 guests from business, politics and social security came to the ceremony. “We have invested 30 million euros in the Upper Austria regional office, thereby creating a modern and innovative location for our 300 employees as well as an advice and service point for our 217,000 insured people in Upper Austria,” says SVS chairman Peter Lehner. “Entrepreneurs, farmers and self-employed people in Upper Austria have a local contact point for all their social security concerns. The state office is also a confirmation of Upper Austria as a business location,” emphasizes State Governor Thomas Stelzer.
“Our self-employed people represent the entrepreneurial strength of the state and are real top performers who make a valuable contribution to the future of Upper Austria. The SVS in Linz offers you a strong, modern and future-oriented service point,” emphasizes Stelzer and is pleased that particular emphasis was placed on sustainability and climate friendliness when developing the property. The building is connected to district heating, a PV system was installed on the roof and there are electric charging stations available that can be expanded as needed.
The location was developed on an area of 7,500 m2 and offers 270 modern workplaces for over 300 employees. “We are following a shared desk principle in the new office, which enables optimal use and remote work,” explains Lehner and adds: “The service center is available to SVS policyholders for personal advice. Even though we at SVS follow a digital-first mindset and have a comprehensive offering with the svsGO app, chatbot and website, personal advice is needed, especially when it comes to important and complex questions.” The new building also offers space for a comprehensive health center , in which general practitioners and specialists in the area of prevention and care from various disciplines are available to the insured.
In her speech, the President of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce, Doris Hummer, emphasized the role of the community of solidarity and self-administration. “If you don’t have your own strength, there is a community that supports you,” emphasizes Hummer and adds: “Our aim is to offer our self-employed people in the country an excellent network of support.” According to the president, the SVS is “ the best example for all healthcare providers in preventative care and digitalization.”
Franz Waldenberger, President of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Agriculture, emphasizes that Upper Austria is the number one agricultural state. “We have a production value of 2 billion euros and 44,000 direct employees and 55,0000 employees in the downstream sector,” says Waldenberger, emphasizing that the merger has succeeded in leveraging synergies while still addressing the special needs of agriculture. “I am enthusiastic about digitalization, the further development of the offers and the proximity to the insured,” says Waldenberger in summary.
The building has a net usable area of 5,770 m2 and has approximately 2,300 m2 above ground. The building is divided into three above-ground floors. The basement offers a parking garage with 129 underground parking spaces and technical rooms. Construction started in 2021 and was completed in August 2023. The move took place in late summer and autumn. On December 4, 2023, the customer center was opened to party traffic.
