The Center for Experimentation and Production of Contemporary Music (Cepromusic) of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (Inbal) will present its inaugural concert of the 2024 season: Birthdayon Saturday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hall Manuel M. Ponce of the Palace of Fine Arts.
The program will be made up of the premiere in Mexico of the work In Names – Search for the Name…by Klaus Huber, and the pieces Chamber Symphony No. 1by Arnold Schoenberg; Traverseby Karola Obermüller, and Lone of yarnby the Mexican Wilfrido Terrazas, exponents of the music of the 20th and 21st centuries.
This concert is named in commemoration of the anniversaries of the composers Arnold Schoenberg (150), Klaus Huber (100) and Wilfrido Terrazas (50), outstanding creators of their generation for their careers in music.
“For Cepromusic it is relevant to celebrate the anniversaries of music icons through this concert. After the success of our tour, we are happy to inaugurate the 2024 season with a selection of works that highlights the influence and enduring legacy of musicians of the caliber of Schoenberg and Huber, in addition to celebrating Wilfrido Terrazas, magnificent improviser and tireless ally of Cepromusic ”, mentioned José Luis Castillo, artistic director.
The ensemble will perform after its binational tour of Mexico City, San Diego and Baja California, where it offered five free concerts and a training activity with almost a thousand attendees in all its activities.
The opening concert of the season by the Cepromusic Ensemble will be held on Saturday, February 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the Sala Manuel M. Ponce of the Palace of Fine Arts.
