Hyundai Motor Company and Kia will hold a new technology exhibition ‘E-FOREST TECH DAY 2024’ to share innovative smart factory manufacturing technologies and present a future vision for the transition to a SDF (Software Defined Factory). .

According to Hyundai Motors and Kia on the 21st, ‘E-Forest Tech Day’, which celebrated its 5th anniversary this year, is an event where Hyundai Motors and Kia’s Manufacturing Solutions Division and partners share the results of research and development to accelerate the implementation of SDF through manufacturing technology innovation. , will be held at the Hyundai Motor and Kia Uiwang Research Center from the 22nd to the 24th.

Hyundai Motor Company and Kia plan to exhibit about 200 innovative new manufacturing technologies and operate four theme pavilions, including SDF, AAM, robotics, and startups, to present the direction of future new technologies.

‘Eforest Tech Day 2024’ will exhibit about 200 various innovative technologies, including manufacturing AI, digital twin, logistics and assembly automation, robotics solutions, and AAM manufacturing technology.

In particular, among the 200 exhibitions, six group companies, including Hyundai Mobis, Hyundai Rotem, Hyundai Wia, Hyundai Autoever, Hyundai Glovis, and Hyundai Transys, will participate in 28 exhibitions, and startups will participate in 5 exhibitions.

Key technologies include △logistics robot (AMR) driving control internalization technology, △atypical parts assembly automation technology, △infinite multi-axis holding fixture technology, △SPOT industry wide solution, and △UAM fuselage and wing automatic alignment system.

‘Logistics robot (AMR) driving control internalization technology’ is a technology that internalizes the control and control software algorithms necessary for the use of logistics robots. It is capable of moving in all directions, regardless of front or back, and is a technology that controls the rotation speed of the left and right wheels, allowing the logistics robot to run smoothly in curves even when carrying heavy loads.

‘Irregular parts assembly automation technology’ is a program that recognizes irregular parts such as hoses and wires whose shapes are not fixed through an AI vision algorithm, automatically calculates the picking point, and issues control commands. When humanoid robots are introduced into factories, it is an essential technology for autonomous factory operation.

‘Infinite multi-axis holding fixture (fixing device) technology’ allows the assembly of various parts such as doors, hoods, wheels, etc., which previously required separate fixtures for each part into a single fixture, which not only reduces fixture production costs, but also reduces fixture production costs. This is a very effective technology for factory flexibility. Whenever a part is changed, the relevant information is automatically entered into the PC, and through this, the part fixing point of the fixture is automatically moved to fix the part.

‘SPOT Industry Wide Solution’ introduces intelligent inspection technology using artificial intelligence, vision processing, and big data processing, allowing Spot to conduct real-time safety inspections in the factory environment through various sensors corresponding to the eyes, nose, and mouth. This is a technology that allows you to inspect equipment.

The ‘UAM fuselage and wing automatic alignment system’ is a technology that automatically aligns and precisely fastens the heavy UAM fuselage and wings in 1㎛ (micrometer) units, taking into account the characteristics of UAM that require assembly precision 10 to 100 times greater than that of a vehicle. am. A process that normally takes 3 to 5 days can be shortened to just a few hours.

Meanwhile, this year’s ‘Eforest Tech Day’ will host seminars by inviting big tech companies, as well as a new manufacturing technology presentation contest and software user conference.

At the new manufacturing technology presentation contest, we plan to share cases of new technologies that improve the competitiveness of global production plants, and at the software user conference, we plan to announce achievements in each field that can internalize software utilization and revitalize data-based work.
