CEO Luc van Os after twelve years with media company Hearst Nederland | NOW

Luc van Os resigns as CEO of the media company Hearst Netherlands, which includes titles such as Vogue, Elle, Quote and Cosmopolitan spends. He announced that decision on Monday.

Van Os (53) worked for a total of 24 years at Hearst Nederland and his predecessors Hachette Filippacchi Media and Quote Media. He worked as CEO for the last twelve years.

Under the leadership of Van Os, Hearst Nederland became the largest magazine publisher in the Netherlands. In 2017, he managed to purchase a large number of Gruner + Jahr Media titles, including Quest, JAN, Glamor and the Dutch Vogue and National Geographic.

Hearst Netherlands is part of Hearst Magazines, the largest magazine publisher in the US. The company has subsidiaries in China, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

Van Os leaves on its own initiative. He will not get a successor, because as a result of a restructuring within Hearst Magazines, national organizations now fall under one European president, the British James Wildman. “It is a good time to get out now,” says Van Os.
