Ceo Bpost: “Postmen who don’t ring the bell for parcel delivery …

Postmen who put a card in your letterbox without ringing the bell while you wait for your package at home. “That is not possible,” says Bpost CEO Jean-Paul Van Avermaet on Radio 2. “We will take a strict approach.”

Although the CEO believes that it concerns a small number of postmen, Van Avermaet also regularly receives complaints. “I read a lot of complaints that come in and I also hear a lot of those things. It is a legitimate frustration: you are at home and either you did not hear the doorbell or the doorbell did not ring. I am aware of that and we must avoid it. ”

That is why Bpost will set up a campaign in which the postmen are called on to always ring the bell. “We will also communicate about that. If the postman cannot ring the bell, he must leave a note. ”

Bpost is also getting a new application, which will make the delivery time more precise. Now you get a delivery time of a whole day, but with the new application that will be five hours. “We want to improve the systems in that area and always be more customer-oriented,” says Van Avermaet.

In addition, the postmen will be able to give you more information about the delivery of your package. The device they use has been renewed and is now equipped with a GPS, which gives postmen a better idea where the parcel should be delivered. “The postman will be able to send a photo of the package that was delivered. So you can see where it is. ”
