AMSTERDAM – “Putting your lips against this flute feels like a kiss from the sixteenth century.” Flutist Kate Clark describes her euphoria with these lyrical words about the discovery of the oldest wooden flute in the Netherlands. The specimen from the first half of the sixteenth century was found by archaeologists in a shipwreck off the coast of Warder in North Holland.
