Gerard Sanderink also loses his last share of the Centric company he founded. This was decided by the Enterprise Chamber on Friday.
The current board of Centric and the Public Prosecution Service (OM) demanded that ties with Sanderink be cut completely. And that research is being done into the state of affairs in the board in recent years. To both, the Enterprise room hear now.
There has been a lot of unrest at Centric for several years now, which provides IT projects for the government, among other things. Sanderink was at odds with many employees. He therefore decided to step down from his board position a year and a half ago to keep the peace. The Twente millionaire decided to return in October.
The OM felt hindered by Sanderink’s return in its investigation into abuses at Centric. In November, shortly after his return, Sanderink was already suspended as a director at the request of the Public Prosecution Service following a ruling by the Enterprise Chamber.
New directors were appointed under the leadership of Peter Wakkie and Sanderink had to sell all but one share. But according to the new board, Sanderink’s one share also caused difficulties, because all decision-making still had to go through the founder. The board was also of the opinion that it was difficult to explain to important customers that Sanderink still had some role at Centric.
The unrest at Centric arose partly because Sanderink had frequently been in the news in recent years. For example, he had a fight with his former lover Brigitte van Egten. He put her aside after befriending Rian van Rijbroek, a self-proclaimed cyber expert. Experts question her claims.
Centric said in a response that the OM’s investigation “will provide the desired clarity”. “The measures previously taken by the Enterprise Chamber remain in force. This guarantees peace and stability at Centric.”
