With the beginning of the new year which coincides with the International Day of Peace, the Catholicos of the House of Cilicia addressed the Armenian Catholic Patriarch Raphael Bedros, 21st Minasian, a message to the pastors, bishops and bishops of the sons and daughters of the Church wherever they are in the country and abroad, in which he said:
Brothers, we have closed a year and welcome a new year, and the days go by and push us to receive new days full of hope and activity, with which we look forward to rebuilding, valuing and renewing ourselves, so it will be we forget the hate and hatred? Will love prevail in the hearts of our families and societies?
He added: “These questions are being asked of us since the new year with the beginning of the International Day of Peace, which offers us new opportunities to experience divine mercy and grace, and to break the ice of selfishness and fears that occupy our in our homeland, Lebanon, the wounded East and all the other countries that suffer under the weight of wars, destructions, national financial and political crises”.
And he continued: “In this new world, we must strengthen the concept of forgiveness and reconciliation so that the time of failure ends and the time of work and construction begins, and we reward the other for his efforts so that the blessings last and the blessings interior peace prevails and that we build projects that bear fruit and employ energy to avoid the dilemma of migration and other calamities”.
He concluded: “Yes, my beloved brothers and sisters, we must transcend our interests and selfishness so that love prevails between us. We must build our countries with our solidarity and solidarity. We must preserve our families by respecting the Holy Family in order to reach the concept of true peace”.
And to the officials in Lebanon and in the world, come to your conscience, save your countries, and make the interest of the country and the people outweigh your interests, so that we deserve to celebrate the International Day of Peace. It is important that we all work with one heart, united to break the ice of indifference, hatred and selfishness, and join hands to create a new Lebanon, a Lebanon of openness and healthy coexistence, mutual respect and preserving the rights of all, especially the rights of the destitute and the weak among us.
