Thiruvananthapuram: Rain will continue in the state today. Central Meteorological Department reports that there will be heavy rain in isolated places. Yellow alert has been declared in Idukki and Malappuram districts. There is a chance of rain in the next few days.

The Central Meteorological Department has informed that in the next 3 hours there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.

The state also received widespread rain on Sunday. According to the meteorological department, more rain is likely in central and southern Kerala. Heavy rain will occur at isolated places. Be careful in hilly areas. A yellow alert was announced in the districts of Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram yesterday.

The warning is that rain will continue in the state in the coming days. Moderate/moderate rain is likely to continue over Kerala for the next 5 days due to cyclonic circulation over Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is no disruption to fishing in the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts. Wind gusts of 45 to 55 kmph at occasional 65 kmph are likely over south Tamil Nadu coast, Kanyakumari coast adjacent to Gulf of Mannar and southwest Bay of Bengal adjacent to Sri Lankan coast.
