Thrissur: After a gap of 10 months, senior BJP leader Sobha Surendran has joined the party. Sobha Surendran was here to attend a meeting of BJP office bearers attended by BJP national president JP Nadda. Sobha Surendran told the media that she had nothing more to say than what the national president had said. She added that everyone wants her to attend the meeting. Although the media asked many questions, Sobha left and went to the meeting of party functionaries.
At the same time, there are indications that Sobha came to the BJP’s ten months later after the leadership took a firm stand that she would not be in the party anymore if she did not attend today’s meeting. CP Radhakrishnan, in-charge of the organization, contacted Sobha on the phone and asked her to attend today’s meeting.
The leadership informed Sobha that if she did not attend the meeting, a decision would be taken to expel her from the party before 10 am tomorrow. With this, Sobha came to the BJP meeting to end the ten month long cold war. Although Sobha sought the possibility of meeting national president JP Nadda in person, the party did not give its approval. There are indications that Sobha will not get a seat in the Assembly elections.
Meanwhile, BJP national president JP Nadda arrived in Thrissur to attend party functions and crucial meetings. This is his first visit to Kerala since taking over as BJP president. JP Nadda is attending a state leadership meeting today attended by BJP state office bearers, district presidents and district general secretaries. After this, JP Nadda will hold a meeting with the RSS leadership in the state and take crucial decisions related to the Assembly elections.
