Director of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG extension) Dwikorita Karnawati responded to the Central Java governor’s request Ganjar Pranowo agar meteorological engineering conducted in the Central Java queue flood what happened in Semarang. Dwikorita confirmed that his group started planning the weather as of this morning.
“As of this morning,” BMKG chief Dwikorita Karnawati said when contacted detik comSunday (1/1/2023).
Dwikorita said meteorological engineering will be done until this afternoon 6:00 PM WIB. This request follows meteorological engineering success on New Year’s Eve yesterday.
“Weather engineering is expected to be carried out until 1800 WIB today,” he said.
Earlier, Central Java governor Ganjar Pranowo requested meteorological engineering in Central Java. This is because several areas of Central Java have experienced heavy rains for quite a long time and have been flooded.
Ganjar said that according to information from BMKG, the weather in Central Java on Sunday (1/1) is still raining and the intensity is expected to be higher than today.
“Communication with BMKG, yes we are trying to ask for meteorological engineering to intervene. Yesterday we conveyed this emergency condition, and at the same time we had new information. , Saturday (31/12/2022).
It should be noted that the city of Semarang has been affected by floods in several places. The Tawang station area and several spots around the old city of Semarang were also submerged. The Tawang Polder has overflowed.
EVP KAI Daop 4 Semarang Wisnu Pramudyo said there were several train journeys that were delayed. Two local trains, KA Joglosemarkerto, had to cancel their journeys. Passengers can get a 100% refund or choose onward travel.
