According to the Deputy Governor, there needs to be a solution for people living with HIV who want to treat co-morbidities.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMARANG — Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Maimoen initiated to include people with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) as one who is entitled to receive assistance from the Family Hope Program (PKH). The Deputy Governor who is also the Chairman of the Central Java AIDS Commission (KPA) asked the PLWHA those who do not have a population identification number immediately report so that the plan can be realized immediately.
“Later we will try to coordinate with the related OPD, because they (PLWHA) need it, how can they enter PKH,” said Deputy Governor Taj Yasin in Semarang, Sunday (12/12).
According to the Deputy Governor, there needs to be a solution for people living with HIV who want to treat various co-morbidities. This is because care and treatment facilities are only available in hospitals, which are relatively expensive, while some of them are not registered with BPJS Kesehatan.
The Deputy Governor hopes that all parties will work together to tackle various AIDS problems.
Head of Provincial Health Office Central Java Yulianto Prabowo added that his party was synergizing with related parties to suppress the spread of HIV/AIDS infection. Because, the estimated case in Central Java reached 52,677 people with confirmed cases of 35,238 people living with HIV.
He said, the earlier PLWHA is found, the faster treatment will be carried out. Because when infected with this disease, the person concerned must take medicine for the rest of his life.
The Central Java Health Office estimates that there are 52 thousand cases of HIV/AIDS, but so far only 72 percent of these have been found. “With this condition, we never stop educating through various media, even education about the dangers of the disease is also delivered in schools,” he said.
