The police named five men with the initials BD, SR, SM, AS and LH as suspects in the beating of two members Satpol PP Central Jakarta (Jakpus) near the mall entrance in Central Jakarta. The police then carried out urine tests on the five suspects.
“Apart from that, we have also carried out urine tests on five suspects,” said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo, to journalists, Wednesday (3/1/2023).
Susatyo said LH, BD, SM and SR tested positive for drugs. He said that only the US was not positive for narcotics.
“The results for LH are positive for amphetamine or use of methamphetamine, then this SM is positive for amphetamine and also PHC or marijuana. Then SR is positive for amphetamine as well as marijuana, then BD is positive for amphetamine or use of methamphetamine which does not use narcotics is AS yes this is clean,” he said.
He appealed to the public not to resolve conflicts with violence. He hopes that similar incidents of beatings will not happen again in the Central Jakarta area.
“So, through this opportunity, I also urge the Central Jakarta Police Chief that the problems that occur should not be resolved using violence, especially against officers. No group can use a culture of violence to solve problems,” he said.
Central Jakarta Satpol PP Attacked
The beating incident occurred on Sunday (31/12/2023), at 16.00 WIB, precisely in front of the entrance to one of the malls. Initially, a Satpol PP member with the initials SS was slapped by a man with the initials S.
Seeing his colleague being slapped, member Satpol PP Others tried to resolve the dispute between the two. The victim asked S why his colleague had been slapped, but S became more emotional.
A few moments later, a group of men who were S’s friends came and started beating up the two Satpol PP members. The victim then made a report at the Menteng Police.
