JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Central Jakarta City Government sent a letter to the Leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab regarding the wedding ceremony of his daughter, Sharifa Najwa Shihab.
The wedding ceremony was originally to be held on Saturday (11/14/2020) tonight at Rizieq’s residence on Jalan Petamburan III, Central Jakarta.
In the letter signed by the Mayor of Central Jakarta Bayu Meghantara, the City Government reminded that marriage ceremonies should apply health protocols to prevent Covid-19.
The implementation of the health protocol is also in accordance with the regulations regarding the transitional large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) which are still in force.
“In accordance with these conditions, you are asked to apply health protocols, both the committee and participants who are present at the event with a maximum of 30 people in one room,” said the letter signed by the Mayor of Central Jakarta on Friday.
Rizieq was also asked to ensure the availability of facilities and infrastructure for the prevention of Covid-19 transmission, including a place to wash hands, hand sanitizer, and other necessary equipment.
The marriage contract ceremony for Rizieq’s daughter will begin at 19.30 WIB. After that the event continued with the commemoration of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Kompas.com monitored at 18.20 WIB, invited guests were present. Jalan KS Tubun was closed from both directions.

The Covid-19 Task Force had previously come to the wedding location to deliver aid in the form of masks and hand sanitizer.
The assistance is to ensure that the Covid-19 preventive health protocol is implemented properly.
