Central Jakarta Health Agency calls on residents to regularly eradicate mosquito nests

DHF cases in central Jakarta up to 652 cases in the period from January to October 2022

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Jakarta’s Central Health Subdepartment (Sudinkes) has asked residents to carry out regular eradication of mosquito nests (PSN) to prevent the dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) epidemic, which often occurs during rain season.

“The advance of dengue fever during the rainy season is the same as in the other seasons, the independent PSN must be done regularly, both in the summer and in the rainy season,” said Rismasari, head of the Central Jakarta Health Subdepartment, when contacted in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Rismasari stated that every PSN monitoring activity was carried out by the puskesmas and the health subdepartment.

“Yep, it was done by both the puskesmas and the sub-health offices,” he continued.

The latest data on dengue cases in central Jakarta, in July there were 97 cases, in August 50 cases and up to October 40 cases.

So that data on DHF cases in central Jakarta of up to 652 cases in the period from January to October 2022 were found in 42 urban villages with the exception of Gelora and Gondangdia villages, there have been no cases.

Rismasari also pointed out that the settlement’s location so far has the potential to create a mosquito nest that causes dengue fever to spread.

In addition, his party also continues to increase surveillance activities by maggot monitoring interpreters (jumantik) in every kelurahan and sub-district.

In this case, the advice, in-depth study or information on Jumantik is carried out by the offices of puskesmas and sub-district, RT / RW and there is a team monitoring to residents any implementation of PSN “3M Plus”.

He hopes that with all these activities, the number of dengue cases in central Jakarta can be suppressed even as it has entered the rainy season.
