Central Franconian youth produce debut film following Ansbach shooting incident.

Two best friends and gang partners are confronted with violence and gang crime every day on their missions. The 100-minute drama feature film by young filmmakers Michael Christian and Simon Fischer from Roth in Middle Franconia has it all. After more than a year of production, the film will be released on April 22, 2023. As part of a big gala premiere, it will be shown for the first time in the filmmakers’ home cinema, the Bavaria Kino Roth. The 180 limited cinema tickets were completely sold out after just 48 hours. In addition to the main actors, numerous sponsors, business representatives, politicians and important people from the Bavarian cultural scene are expected. According to a press release from the film production company simonslinse, various scenes were shot in the Ansbach event location “Die Grotte”.

A cinema film with unsparing fare

The English-language, German-subtitled feature film “Machine Blood” addresses contemporary problems in major US cities against the background of increasing violent crime. The protagonists of the film, played by Samuel Merold and Omar Eltokali, have to face up to their responsibility as civil servants and their conscience as human beings. Fueled by chronic overwork and a toxic work environment, a vicious circle of escalation begins, the end of which is soon beyond your control. The feature film is approved for ages 18+. It is the first feature film for filmmakers Michael Christian and Simon Fischer. Previously, the two produced three short films with different teams, some of which received awards at local film festivals.

Filming from Ansbach to France

After an intensive six-month pre-production phase, shooting started in the summer of 2021, mainly in the Nuremberg metropolitan region. Among other things, the cellar corridors under Schwabach, a restaurant in Kammerstein, a bar in Ansbach and interiors in Gunzenhausen served as filming locations. Among other things, the skater park and the Wiesengrund in Roth, Middle Franconia, were temporarily closed for filming. In addition to the main actors Samuel Merold from Ulm and Omar Eltokali from Egypt, regional well-known figures such as Elke Pusl and Tobias Kilian were also involved. A small film team even traveled to the darkest corners of Marseille in France for special shots for the opening credits of “Machine Blood”.

Film is only shown in exclusive cinemas

The feature film “Machine Blood” celebrates its German premiere with a big gala event in the Bavaria cinema in Roth on April 22nd, 2023. It will then run exclusively in the main program of the Roth cinema from April 27, 2023 until the end of the month. More cinema screenings follow, some with Meet & Greet, in Rednitzhembach, Feuchtwangen, Nuremberg, Fürth, Ingolstadt and Bamberg. The latest dates can be found at www.maschinenblut.com. The premiere is already sold out, but advance tickets are available for the other performances.
