Central Bank of Oman withdraws various notes. The decision will come into effect within 360 days after its publication in the official gazette. But time will be allowed for exchange of invalid notes. The Central Bank of Oman has also said that after the exchange period, it will be illegal to exchange these notes.
These are the canceled notes. 100 Baisa, 200 Baisa, 500 Baisa and One Riyal notes issued by the Central Bank of Oman in November 1995 Five Riyal, Ten Riyal, 20 Riyal and 50 Riyal notes issued in November 2000 One Riyal commemorative note issued in 2005 Special commemorative 20 Riyal note issued in 2010 Note: Five Riyal, Ten Riyal and 50 Riyal notes issued in 2012, a special commemorative Riyal note issued in 20215, and a special commemorative Riyal note issued in 2019.
