He added, “Latin American production will be undertaken by Argentina and Mexico, and this will allow (the vaccine) to reach all countries of the region in a fast and effective manner.”

The Argentine president noted that the agreement concluded between the AstraZeneca laboratory and the Carlos Slim Foundation, which will finance the production, “provides access to reasonable prices” ranging between 3 and 4 dollars for the vaccine, and “this is very important for Latin America because it allows all our countries” to obtain the vaccine, according to Fernandez. .

The AstraZeneca office in Mexico confirmed in a statement that the production of the vaccine would be “without economic benefit” for the laboratory.
