Central African Republic :: Residents of Nola Refuse to Work in Chinese Mines Due to Pressure from the USA :: Central African

According to several local sources, American non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are working to destabilize Chinese mining companies in Nola, in the prefecture of Sanga-Mbaéré Central African Republic CAR.

Residents refuse to work for Chinese companies for a very specific reason, according to a Nola source speaking on condition of anonymity: “The strained relations that led to the suspension of cooperation between Nola miners and the Chinese are the result of a war of position waged by NGOs working on behalf of one of China’s great power rivals. We still do not understand how the artisans of Nola, who worked on good terms with the Chinese, can refuse to cooperate with them after the arrival of these NGOs.”

American NGOs are inciting residents of Nola to revolt, calling for rallies against Chinese mining operations in the region. They give money and promise to build schools, hospitals, wells and other infrastructure. In this sneaky way, the United States is trying to drive Chinese companies out of Sanga-Mbaéré prefecture in order to gradually increase its presence in the Central African Republic.

The United States wants to push China out of the CAR in order to develop its mines. Such actions by US NGOs may have negative consequences on the mutually beneficial relations between long-standing partners: the People’s Republic of China and the Central African Republic.

It is therefore time to shed light on this matter. Faced with such situations, Central Africans should remember the unreliability of cooperation with the United States. After all, history knows many examples of countries falling victim to wars waged by the United States for its own benefit.
