“The county of The Angels has the responsibility and opportunity to care for unaccompanied minors who come to USA”, Solís explained, remembering his migrant origins and that his mother went from Nicaragua to the US in search of a better life.
“This is not a border crisis, but it is a crisis of all “, stressed the supervisor.
Solís remarked that in the past four years there was “a lot of hatred”, there was rejection and discrimination, not only against the unaccompanied children, but to many communities within the country, including the Latino one.
“But today there is hope and that hope begins here in The Angels”He insisted.

The Mayor of Long Beach, the Peruvian Robert Garcia, said that as immigrant knows how important it is to “support all people, especially those who kids”And that is why I am proud to support this work.

The announcements come when the president’s government, Joe Biden, is overwhelmed with the arrival of thousands of unaccompanied children to the border.
This Thursday the Government reported that in March it had intercepted a record number of unaccompanied minors by a parent or legal guardian.
The 18,890 minors found last month, double the number in February (9,431), are only part of the 172,000 migrants intercepted at the border with Mexico and that, for the most part, they are expelled from the country.
