Around 18 users of residences in Mallorca positive for covid but without symptoms will be transferred to the new residence set up by the Consell de Mallorca in Palma. It is a facility authorized by the Insular Institution for the elderly admitted to residences in Mallorca infected with coronavirus but who do not develop symptoms. This will allow their isolation and will help to reduce the pressure of the disease in their residences of origin.
The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Catalina Cladera, explains that 156 places have been initially enabled and this Thursday the first 18 patients will enter. Nursing and auxiliary personnel are being recruited and are also being given a training course. All asymptomatic users of residences in Mallorca, both public and private, will be ingested. The facility will in the future be a residence, which has been completed in a record time of three weeks to be now enabled within the contingency plan.
Cladera has defended the situation of public residences and the management that has been carried out by the Mallorcan Institute of Social Affairs. He stresses that no staff and material have been spared during the pandemic.
