CEMAC: Files from Yaoundé CEMAC: Files from Yaoundé

Libreville, Thursday, March 16, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – The Heads of State of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa are working this Friday in the Cameroonian capital on the occasion of their 15e conference on integration, economic and financial issues in the sub-region.

The six Heads of State of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) are meeting this Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Palace of Unity in Yaoundé as part of their 15e conference. Alongside their Cameroonian counterpart and current president of this sub-regional institution, Paul Biya, Presidents Ali Bongo Ondimba of Gabon, Denis Sassou Nguesso of Congo, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea, Faustin Archange Touadera of Central Africa and Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno from Chad will work on various subjects of common interest.

Placed under the theme: “Enhancing human capital for an emerging CEMAC”, the meeting in Yaoundé will review the various files prepared by the ministers in charge of financial and economic issues and the integration of the Economic Union of Central Africa (UAEAC) yesterday Wednesday in Yaoundé on the occasion of the 39e regular session of their Council. The CEMAC leaders will thus examine the financing mechanism of the Community through the Community Integration Tax (TCI), as mobilization is still lacking. The rationalization of the two regional economic communities (CEMAC and ECCAS) with the aim of setting up a single one for a more integrated and stronger Central Africa. The free movement of people and goods, monetary questionnaires and the renewal of the leaders of the bodies will also be debated.

Several resolutions are expected from this summit which promises to be capital in the city of seven hills.
