Celtic of Glasgow won its Scottish Premiership number 52, after drawing 1-1 with Dundee United as a visitor, enough result to proclaim champions a day before the end of the contest.
The Catholics led by Ange Postecoglou win the league title number 52, the tenth since the 2011-2012 season and with the only mole from last season, when Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers became champion. However, this season the Protestants had to settle for second place, after the departure of Gerrard and the arrival of Gio Van Bronckhorst on the bench meant a downturn that relegated them to runner-up.
Celtic add 90 points, against 86 for Rangers, with a day to play. However, the season for Rangers could go well if they win the Scottish Cup final, which they play against Hearts, and the Europa League, which they will play in Seville against Eintracht Frankfurt.
With this league title, Celtic reduces to three the difference in league championships with Rangers, who continue to lead the table with 55 wounded.
