Hatem Abd Elhamed could be ready to return to Israel.

The Celtic right-back has been unable to settle in Scotland and was last involved in the 4-2 loss to Milan at San Siro on 3 December.

As quoted in the Scottish Sun six days later, Elhamed said: “Life is different. I am used to a more social life and the days pass more slowly than in Israel.

“I am alone here. I finish training and go straight home. I don’t go out much of the house, and that’s how it was even before the virus.

The 29-year-old could now be ready to return to his homeland.

According to Record Sport, Hapoel Be’er Sheva wishes to bring it on loan until the end of the season, with a purchase option later.

The report also says that Elhamed’s comments earlier this month alerted fellow Israeli Maccabi Haifa, Beitar Jerusalem and Maccabi Tel Aviv to his possible availability.

Elhamed came to Glasgow for £ 1.6m in July 2019 but has seen Jeremie Frimpong become coach Neil Lennon’s first choice at his position.

With injuries also paralyzing his progress, Elhamed has made a total of 27 appearances during his time at Celtic.
