RodrÃguez Celtic Band
RodrÃguez Celtic Band, as its name indicates, is a group dedicated to Celtic music that revolves around the figure of José Antonio RodrÃguez, tireless violinist and creator of the historic Supervivientes, a fundamental band in Celtic-inspired folk. lticos at a national level, and also of their predecessors, the defunct Celtas Triple Filtro, founded in their day by RodrÃguez and the late guitarist Rafael Hermosilla.
To the unmistakable traditional sound from which it started, Rodríguez Celtic Band has incorporated new approaches with harmonies typical of jazz or funk, thereby renewing an eminently Celtic repertoire. The proposal maintains the idea of experimenting with traditional standard repertoires with a renewing, updated vision and a high degree of interpretation.
The group was born in 2003 when José Antonio Rodríguez, until then focused on Supervivientes, decided to diversify his activity by creating what was originally another trio and which was later expanded to a quartet and sometimes even a quintet, depending on the size of the concert. . The basis of the group is the violin and acoustic guitar complemented with other instruments typical of eminently Scottish, Irish and Breton folk (although they have also welcomed melodies from the Galician or Asturian tradition), always in the orbit of Celtic traditions, such as the flute, the bodhrán or the bagpipe.
Despite the long history of a group that is a reference in the Celtic scene of Andalusia, the Rodríguez Celtic Band has only one released album, “Renovación”
