Cellphone Trends in 2021, Here’s Oppo Indonesia’s Prediction

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Entering 2021, one of the possible trends in cell phones is towards devices that support 5G networks. This prediction was delivered by PR Manager Oppo Indonesia for Oppo Reno & A Series, Aryo Meidianto.

“Talking about cellphone trends means technological innovation, meaning that talking about trends is actually 5G,” said Aryo during the QnA Oppo Reno 5 Launch Event session, Tuesday (12/1/2021).

According to him, 5G will push other technologies and become a trend in the coming year. However, he said that Indonesia could not yet apply the new network.

Besides that, the video feature will also develop into a trend this year. This is also related to the presence of 5G, namely there will be low latency which has advantages in video.

Regarding video, Aryo said the hype had emerged from last year. For example, short videos and become popular platforms that are present, for example, on TikTok compared to Youtube.

This also makes Reno 5 have a new feature called AI Mixed Portrait. That is, mobile users can combine videos with other clips.

“It is more like the trend that more videos can be produced by the general public. Compared to Youtube, which requires more tools and resources to present videos, they must be beautiful, attractive, then people will see them, if short videos can be used, produced anywhere,” he explained.

Another possibility is that this year’s cellphone will be thinner. For information, the Reno 5 is 7.7 mm thick for Starry Balck and 7.8 mm for the Fantasy Silver color.

Aryo also mentioned the possibility that manufacturers will play a lot with the material used on the back of the cellphone. This was also done by his party in Reno 5 for the Fantasy Silver color variant.

“In the end, maybe the only chance for people to hold a cellphone without a case and others. There will be many devices that have bolder colors,” said Aryo.
