The alert was given around 12:30 am on the night of Friday to Saturday, rue Louis-Loucheur, in the Gorge-de-Loup district (9th arrondissement of Lyon). A fire had broken out in a cellar.

The smoke spread to the floors of the building and the firefighters, dispatched to the site, had to evacuate the inhabitants during the operations. In total some 70 people, for 3 hours.
The inhabitants were able to return to their apartments around 3.30 am. The incident did not cause any injuries but several people were slightly intoxicated by the smoke.
The origin of the fire is, for the time being, unknown.
